The secrets out.
Fabulous lunch, attentive service. Highly recommend the sharing fish platter as a starter and the moule. So good can’t wait to return.
It’s a nice village pub and the food was good. Table of 6, the food was good quality and staff were efficient. A nice afternoon spent there. The camembert to start was very nice and probably the best camembert I’ve ever had. This was followed by chicken kiev.
Superb food with friendly service
We found this place by chance the first time we went, it’s a bit off the main route. We enjoyed it so much we made a detour the next time that we were in the area. Food and service just as good both visits.
First visit but it won't be the last
A lovely setting in a rural Hampshire Meon Valley village adjacent to the Village Green and Parish Church. The main attraction was a pub that still has other items on a Sunday lunch menu other than just roasts. As it was Father's Day we had booked a table. A genuine and warm welcome on arrival asking if we wanted to sit inside or outside. Vegetarian Wellington was described as being lovely by my wife after our server had described all the ingredients. My beef, mushroom and red wine pie with fresh vegetables and gravy was great too. It was nice to see a service charge was not automatically added to the bill so it was a pleasure to leave a voluntary tip after attentive and good service.
lovely old pub set in a lovely village which does decent food and always a nice pint of ale.great garden to sit in the sun too!
I originally booked this restaurant by accident, but was an excellent mistake as this place was perfect, Warm welcome from friendly staff, good selection of drinks and Menabrea on draught with was a bonus. We booked dinner for 6pm but arrived early and sat in the sunny garden for drinks beforehand. Menu choices very good and could not fault the presentation or taste, we opted for the Ploughman’s and Homemade Kiev. Spot on! I’ve recommended already to friends and family, will definitely be returning! Thank you The White Lion for the experience.
Delicious food in a delightful pub
We followed the brown signs from the A32, and found this delightful pub, with friendly staff, a nicely chosen selection of beers and ciders, and delicious food from a varied menu. My friend and I both found something we liked - the cheesy garlic bread was fresh and tasty, my chicken and bacon Caesar salad was very good and my friend's Chicken Kiev was tasty. Portion sizes were ample too.
Lovely old pub with a nice garden area
Just drinks on this occasion as we detoured from the Meon Valley Trail for some refreshments. It’s a quaint old pub situated in the quiet village of Soberton. Nice garden area for sitting in the sunshine. Next time I think we will try the food as the menu looked good.
A Very Enjoyable Saturday Lunch
We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal and experience at The White Lion. The 4 of us enjoyed really tasty burgers and jam packed steak and ale pies. The service was fantastic from the point of booking and during our lunch from everyone particularly Georgia who went out of her way to phone me after booking as I had made a request for somewhere wheelchair accessible, thank you. We will definitely be returning!
Really lovely pub / restaurant. Lease just improve starter portion size
Asparagus starter was tasty but in my opinion for £7 measly. A poached egg would have been welcome My husband had the Bon bins and also felt the portion was inadequate for the £7-8 cost The mains however were plentiful. Kiev delightful Pie good quality Food choice of wines. Waitress was extremely friendly and attentive Pub clean and nicely decorated hence the 4* star review
